Medina EC members needs are a top priority in our business. Security and area lighting can help make a property safer and more secure when placed in proper areas. As a helpful service, Medina EC members have a number of security and area lighting options from the cooperative.
Medina EC has a $45 installation fee with new area lighting service on existing power poles.
Lighting can be added to areas of the property without an existing meter or transformer pole, however the member will be responsible for the construction costs associated with adding a new pole and power lines for the lighting.
Members have a monthly charge depending on the lighting option chosen, based on the wattage of the light.
Members must sign a 1-year contract when opting for area or security lighting.
Plan 1-2 business days for installation on existing poles before your lighting is ready to use. However, if you had to add a pole for the area lighting, time for the new construction installation can vary.
Be aware of where you want the light placed and consider the direction the light will be facing before installation. Make sure the lighting won't shine in problematic areas at night, such as bedroom windows disrupting someone's sleep.
