Payment Options

Medina EC offers a variety of convenient payment options.

Autopay Program

Each month the amount due on your bill will be automatically withdrawn from your bank account or charged to a credit card and paid directly to Medina EC.

Medina EC now accepts monthly automatic payments using:

  • Discover
  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • Bank Draft

Members can sign-up for this free service by visiting their local district office or by filling out and returning the Autopay Program Authorization Form.

By Phone

For no additional charge you can pay your bill by calling 1-866-MEC-ELEC (632-3532) and completing a check or credit card payment by telephone.

By Mail

Be sure to include the payment stub from your bill with your payment and mail to:

In Person

Members can pay their bill at any of our district offices.


Offices in Hondo, Uvalde and Rio Grande City offer drive-thru service.


Medina EC has expanded its payment options to include convenient locations throughout the service area.  A $1 convenience fee will be charged by the store. You will also need to have either your bill stub or Medina EC account number. Payments at these locations must be made with cash, check or money order. Payments made before 3:00 p.m. will post on the account the same business day. Payments made after 3:00 p.m. will post on the account the next business day.

Budget Payment Plans

Levelized Payment

Monthly budget payment is the average of the previous 12 months. The monthly budget payment is fixed for 12 months. A carry-over calculation will be made 12 months from sign-up or last carry-over.

Average Payment

Monthly budget payment is the average of the previous 11 months plus the current month. Monthly budget payment fluctuates from month to month. There is not a settle-up or carry-over since current month’s usage is included in the current billing calculation.

Budget Payment Plan Requirements

  • Must be a member for at least one year
  • Available to General Service Rate accounts only
  • Must complete the Budget Payment Agreement form
  • Payments must be received by the due date
  • Cannot have a broken Budget Payment Agreement in the past 12 months
  • Account must be paid current and in full prior to sign-up
