$2,500 Scholarships Awarded to 15 Recipients
As a part of its commitment to
community, Medina Electric Cooperative has proudly awarded 84 higher-education scholarships totaling $210,00 to members and their children since 2000.
History of the Scholarship Program
Medina EC’s scholarship program was implemented with help from Texas State Law, House Bill (HB) 3202. Enacted in 1997, this HB allows nonprofit electric cooperatives to use unclaimed capital credit money to offer scholarships.
“Finding alternatives that help stimulate the economic future of our local community is important. By offering scholarships to our members and their children, Medina EC is investing in that future,” said Louis Rothe, Member Services Supervisor.
