Scholarships

Medina EC is offering 15 higher education scholarships, valued at $2,500 each, to aspiring high school seniors and adults to help make their college dreams become reality.

As a part of its commitment to community, Medina EC has proudly awarded 101 higher-education scholarships totaling $247,500 to members and their children since 2000.

History of the Scholarship Program

Medina EC's scholarship program was implemented with help from Texas State Law, House Bill (HB) 3202. Enacted in 1997, this HB allows nonprofit electric cooperatives to use unclaimed capital credit money to offer scholarships.

Graduating seniors and adults who are pursuing higher-education are encouraged to apply for a Medina EC scholarship. Information on the 2010 scholarships will be available in December 2009 at the Medina EC local district offices, in the Texas Co-op Power magazine.
