2008 Washington, D.C. Youth Tour Winners

Together they can make a difference

Congratulations are in order for Stephen Morin, Katey Watson and Mark Morales, Jr., who were selected to represent Medina EC during the 2008 National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) Washington, D.C. Youth Tour.

These winners will join over 100 high school students from electric co-ops across Texas. The Youth Tour brings together more than 1,500 students from across the country to our nation’s capital for a rewarding and educational experience.

During the week-long tour of Washington, D.C., they will visit memorials, museums and get a first-hand look at our government at work.
This is the second consecutive year that Medina EC has been able to sponsor one student from each of the three voting districts on this trip. Morin is representing District 1, Watson District 2, and Morales the District 3 area.

High school students whose parents or guardians are members of Medina EC are eligible to apply for this opportunity. Information on the 2009 Youth Tour will be available in December 2008 at the local district offices, online at at www.medinaec.org and the Texas Co-op Power.
