Involvement and Donations
Medina EC gives back to communities with donations of employee time, financial contributions and donations of goods. Since one of the cooperative principles is commitment to community, we find it important to stay involved in the communities we are part of.
Medina EC makes financial donations, donations of employee time and gives bottled water to area organizations. If your organization is having an event or fundraiser that you would like cooperative assistance with, please email us information at MyCoop@MedinaEC.org. If you would like to request a donation of bottled water for a community event, please fill out the water request form and submit it to MyCoop@MedinaEC.org or drop it off at one of our offices.
Please note that the following are currently not eligible for monetary or bottled water donations: faith based organizations (they can become eligible if the donation supports a program available and open to all individuals in the community for non-religious purposes and has a 501(c)(3) determination letter); a single person's project or effort; organizations restricted to a specific group of citizens; organizations whose mission or values are in conflict with the cooperative mission and values; groups that support political parties or advocacy programs; general operating, tax or payroll expenses; national organizations with no local affiliation; for-profit entities; registration fees or travel expenses for groups or individuals.
Organizations may also qualify for donations from our wholesale power provider, STEC. Please visit their website for information on their charitable giving and corporate support program to learn more about this additional opportunity.
Medina EC works closely with local chambers of commerce and other organizations. This involvement helps us discover innovative ways we can assist in meeting the needs of our members and the communities the live in.

Operation Round Up Trust Committee
The primary objective of this committee is to distribute funds for charitable purposes in the service area of Medina EC. Funds for this program are accumulated through voluntary donations by members who have agreed to join Operation Round Up. Another objective of the committee is to actively promote member involvement in the program and to identify charitable causes in need of support.
Members of the Trust Committee are selected by the Board of Directors. The committee meets quarterly. The committee consists of three members from each voting district; each serve one consecutive three-year term. Thereafter, members may be reappointed to the committee upon approval of the Board of Directors.
Member Advisory Group
The Member Advisory Group was established by the Medina EC Board of Directors to improve communication between the members, the Board and Medina EC management by obtaining valuable member input regarding the cooperative’s ability to serve the needs of the membership in the most effective manner. The group is made up of cooperative members who are interested in learning more about current issues involving Medina EC. The group consists of nine units (husband/wife teams may serve as one unit) from each voting district. Meetings are held as needed.
