As a not-for-profit electric cooperative, Medina EC is run by a board of directors elected by the membership. Medina EC has nine board members, three per voting district, who serve three-year terms. Each year, a seat in each of our three voting districts is available for election.

This year, only Voting District 1 had a contested race between Levi McKenzie and Wayne Scholtz. The results were as follows:

  • Levi McKenzie – 566 votes
  • Wayne Scholtz (the incumbent) – 1,352 votes

Voting Districts 2 and 3 were uncontested. Kenneth White was reelected to represent Voting District 2 and J.L. Gonzalez was reelected to represent Voting District 3.

If you would like to run for a seat on Medina EC’s Board of Directors in 2022, nominating meetings will be held in the first quarter of the year. Times and locations will be posted on MedinaEC.org/NomMtg closer to January.
