Medina Electric Cooperative presented Santa Teresita Community Center with a $3,400 donation on Thursday, September 12. Santa Teresita Community Center opened in 2006 to provide an array of services for residents of all ages from Las Lomas and Las Pilas. The donation will go towards new equipment like computers, tables and chairs which will help community members search for jobs and allow children an adequate space to work on school projects.
Concern for community and cooperation among cooperatives are longstanding Cooperative Principles. Cooperatives like Medina EC work to improve the quality of life in the communities we serve, and supporting Santa Teresita is just one way of doing that.
The donation was made possible through the members of Medina EC, and through CoBank’s Sharing Success charitable contribution program. CoBank, a national cooperative bank, is one of Medina EC’s financial partners. Through the Sharing Success program, CoBank matched a donation of up to $7,500 that Medina EC made to nonprofit organizations throughout their 17-county service area.
